Some places never really leave us.
For me, it was a weathered 200 year old cottage tucked away on Cape Cod. Every summer, my grandparents welcomed us there with the same quiet rituals that became the rhythm of my childhood.
Mornings began with warm, fresh donuts, slices of sharp cheddar cheese, and a glass of orange juice around the kitchen table: a combination that still instantly transports me back to those summers. I loved waking up to find my grandmother already outside, quietly tending to her gardens in the early morning light. By the time the rest of us wandered out, everything felt peaceful, cared for, and ready for another beautiful day.
The sun porch became our sanctuary. My grandmother and I would spend hours there talking about everything and nothing while salty breezes drifted through the open windows. It was where handwritten letters were written, journals were filled, and the world seemed to slow down just enough to notice the little things.
Afternoons were filled with sandy feet, warm ocean breezes, bicycle rides, and beach roses growing along weathered fences. We wandered through the marshes searching for bunnies and spent countless evenings watching sunsets on the bay side.
Returning to the Cape House always felt like coming home. Worn wood floors, well-loved books, crackling fires on cool evenings, and rooms where every object had been thoughtfully collected over time. Nothing felt extravagant, yet everything felt beautiful.
My grandparents taught me that a home isn't beautiful because it's expensive. It's beautiful because it's loved.
Years later, after making North Carolina home, my family lovingly restored a small 1970s beach bungalow on Topsail Island. Today, it has become our family's happy place: a place where we gather, slow down, create traditions, and welcome the people we love. In many ways, it carries forward everything I cherished about that little Cape Cod cottage: a home where hospitality comes naturally, beauty is found in the details, and memories are made one quiet moment at a time.
The Coastal Cottage Collective was born from those memories and these 2 homes. It isn't simply about coastal gifts. It's about sharing the feeling of coming home.
Every collection is thoughtfully curated to bring together timeless beauty, meaningful details, and the warmth of Southern hospitality - because the smallest touches are often the ones people remember most. We believe beauty doesn't have to be extravagant.
It simply needs to be chosen with care.
